What the FUT Web and Companion Apps actually give you, why EA gates them behind account activity, what unlock means when there is no switch to flip, and what the booster does on the club to get the check to pass.
Web App Unlock is the service people order without being entirely sure what they are buying, because the thing it unlocks is not part of the game you play. It is the browser and phone side of Ultimate Team, and EA decides whether your account is allowed in.
What the Web and Companion Apps are
Ultimate Team runs in two places. There is the club inside the game on your console or PC, and there is the same club reached through a browser on any computer and through the Companion App on a phone. The second one is the reason this service exists.
What the app gives you is everything that is not a match. The transfer market with search and bidding, the squad screen, objectives and squad building challenges, packs, and the daily routine of listing and relisting. What it does not give you is play.
For a lot of players that is the more valuable half. The market never closes, and reaching it from a phone during the day is the difference between trading as a habit and trading only when you happen to be at the console.
Why EA gates it behind account activity
Access is not automatic. EA grants it to accounts that look like real, established, ordinarily behaved accounts, and withholds it from accounts that do not. The specific checks are EA's and they change, so treat any list of exact requirements you read anywhere as a description rather than a specification.
The reasoning is easy to see. A browser-only doorway into the transfer market is exactly what automated trading, coin selling and freshly created throwaway accounts want most. Requiring an account to have a history before it gets that doorway raises the cost of abuse enormously while costing an ordinary player almost nothing.
In practice the gate looks at things like account age, security setup, whether the club has been played this edition, and whether recent behaviour looks like a person. Accounts that sat idle, were made recently, or skipped an edition are the ones locked out.
What unlock means in practice
Unlock does not mean bypassing anything. There is no switch, no exploit and no back door. It means putting the account into the state EA is looking for and then letting the check pass on its own.
Playing the club normally so the account has genuine current-edition activity behind it rather than an empty record.
Completing the routine tasks the mode expects of an active player, which is the bulk of the work and the least glamorous part of it.
Getting the account security in order, since the gate cares about that and it is frequently the single missing piece.
Letting time pass, because some of what the check measures is simply age and consistency, and neither of those can be rushed by anybody.
That last point is why this service is sold as work on the account rather than as an instant toggle. Part of the requirement is patience, and honest services say so.
Why it matters for trading and coins
Without app access, every market action costs a console session. With it, you can list before work, check bids at lunch and relist in the evening, which is what compounding a balance actually looks like. It also matters for openings, where being at the market in the first minutes of a promo is most of the advantage.
This is the reason the unlock is usually the first order a trading-focused player places rather than the last. If the balance itself is the goal instead of the access, FC Coins is the direct route, and the two are often ordered together.
What the booster does, and for how long
The booster plays your club the way an active player would. Matches in the ordinary modes, the routine objectives, the squad housekeeping, spread across days rather than compressed into one marathon, because a burst of activity on a dormant account is the opposite of what the check is looking for.
Duration therefore depends on where the account starts. A club that is merely short of activity is a different job from one untouched since a previous edition, and the coach will tell you which yours looks like. Nobody can name the exact moment EA flips the switch, because EA does not publish it, and a service that promises the hour is promising something it does not control.
Support tip: sort out the account security and the email on the account before the order starts rather than during it. It is the most common single reason a club that otherwise looks perfectly active still cannot get in, and it is the one part of this you can do yourself in a few minutes.
Safety notes
Two things are worth knowing before you order. The first is that app access is a state, not a permanent trophy. A new edition, a long dormant stretch or a change in EA's checks can put an account back outside, and that is a property of the platform rather than a failure of the order.
The second is that this service is not an account recovery service. If the club is locked for a reason other than activity, activity will not fix it and that conversation belongs with EA. Our handling rules for account access are written out on the safety page, and anything unclear before ordering belongs with support.
Where to go next
The order form is on Web App Unlock, the balance service most people pair it with is FC Coins, and the rest of the catalogue sits on the EA FC hub.
