WoW Forever Gold Farming

Gold sellers deliver by trade or mail, and that delivery is what Blizzard's bans target.

During the WoW Forever beta, Blizzard closed over 2,100 gold-buying accounts and almost 1,600 gold-selling or botting accounts. It has said it will chase rule breaches much harder than in earlier versions of the game.

Gold bought by trade or mail comes from another account. Farmed gold comes from monsters, quests and gathering on your own character, the same way you'd earn it yourself.

Every gold order is farmed by hand, with no bots or scripts. Botting accounts were part of the beta closures, and WoW Forever also restricts addons that automate communication or marking.

Your pro pulls and kills, and every item drop is looted to you. Coin drops split across the group as usual, so most of your gold comes from selling what drops.

Blizzard's rules cover paid in-game services, self-play included, and a piloted order also means your pro signs in. Farming on your character takes away the transfer, not every risk.

Blizzard is adding a trade warning to the game as part of its push against gold buying. Farmed gold never passes through a trade window, so there's nothing for the warning to flag.

Gathering turns travel into gold, since herbs, ore and leather sell to players who craft. Your pro can level Herbalism, Mining or Skinning on the way if you want the skill too.

Gold runs short at the same points for most characters.

Apprentice riding at 40 costs 100 gold to train plus 20 for the mount. Journeyman riding at 60 is 1,000 gold plus 200 for the mount, and Honored with your home faction takes 10% off both.

Every few levels your trainer charges for new ranks. Dual spec opens at level 40 for 10 gold, and changing talents within a spec costs a respec fee that drops over time to 1 gold.

Raids and dungeons burn through potions, food and repairs. A gold buffer means you show up ready instead of farming the night before.

Work back from the next big cost. A character heading for 60 needs 1,200 gold for Journeyman riding and the mount, before repairs and consumables.

Self-play is booked by the hour, since the total depends on the drops and what you sell them for.

A piloted order depends on the amount and your character's level, and the calculator shows the estimate before you pay. Self-play takes the hours you book.

Raids add repair bills, flasks, potions and food for every boss. A character heading into Onyxia's Lair, Barrow Deeps or Hyjal Summit needs a buffer for each lockout.

On a piloted order, agree a break with your pro in order chat before you play. Signing in while they're on the character can disconnect them.
