Duo is slower and less certain than a piloted climb, and it costs more per emblem. Both true.

In a piloted boost, one specialist controls the outcome. In a duo, they control one fifth of the game and you control another fifth. A strong player can swing a Silver or Gold lobby heavily — the knowledge gap down there is enormous — but they can't play your lane for you.
