The second option is unusually good in Double Up specifically, because unlike a solo queue carry, the format is built for two people working together. Your partner can send you units, share economy and coordinate a comp with you in a way that has no equivalent in standard ranked.

Double Up runs the identical metallic ladder — Iron, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Emerald, Diamond, Master, Grandmaster, Challenger, with four divisions each below Master.

It also resets the same way: at every set rollover, all players are repositioned between Iron II and Silver IV in Double Up just as they are in solo, with the same five provisional matches where a bottom-four costs no LP and a top-four awards extra.

But the rating is separate. Diamond in solo queue means nothing in Double Up. A Double Up Challenger might be Gold in solo and vice versa.

Practically, that means three things. It's a separate order. It needs its own provisionals. And if you play both queues seriously, you're maintaining two ladders through every set reset rather than one — which is exactly why this page exists.

Double Up lobbies are four teams of two, which changes the LP maths from standard ranked.

You're placing 1st through 4th as a pair rather than 1st through 8th as an individual. The top half gains, the bottom half loses, and your result is your team's result — you rise and fall together regardless of who was carrying.

That has a real consequence for what you're buying. In solo queue a strong player controls their own outcome entirely. In Double Up, half the outcome belongs to the other seat — which is the whole argument for having a verified partner in it rather than a random queue partner or a friend who's three tiers below you.

Double Up has mechanics that don't exist in standard TFT, and knowing them is most of the edge.

A verified partner does all of that by default. A friend who's newer to the format frequently does the opposite, which is why plenty of customers who have a duo partner still buy this service.

Worth knowing before you set a target: Master and above can only queue with one other player within 400 LP of them.

That matters directly in a two-player queue. If you're climbing Double Up with a specific friend in mind and one of you is well beyond Master while the other isn't, the game may simply not let you queue together at the top.

At every set rollover both ladders wipe simultaneously. Your solo rank and your Double Up rank are both repositioned between Iron II and Silver IV.

If you play both queues seriously, that's two full climbs to rebuild every single set — in a game where matches run 30 to 40 minutes and the entire meta has been replaced underneath you.

Set 18: Enchanted Wilds landed in late August 2026 on patch 18.1, the first set on Unreal Engine, introducing the Wisp mechanic — single-use power sources bought one at a time from the rightmost shop slot every other round. Traits include Blossom, Riftbeast, Coven, Elderwood, Sprykin, Blackthorn, Fae and Inferno.

Wisps interact with Double Up in a way that rewards coordination specifically: two players making independent Wisp decisions waste tempo that a coordinated pair doesn't. That's exactly the sort of current-set detail we verify boosters on rather than assuming a badge transfers.

This is the most commonly missed thing on the page.

Double Up gets its own five provisional matches after each reset, with the same generous rules: a bottom-half finish costs no LP and a top-half finish awards extra LP.

Playing your solo provisionals does not use up your Double Up provisionals. They're separate, they're both free upside, and most players burn one set of them casually without realising what they were worth.

If you haven't played your Double Up provisionals this set, buy placements before buying a climb — and say specifically that it's Double Up in the order notes, because it's a different order from the solo version.
