Career rank, weapon leveling, vehicle mastery and the RedSec ladders are four bars that never feed each other. Which one to buy, what a K/D order can honestly move, and where rent-a-booster fits.
This is for a Battlefield 6 player who has put a hundred hours in, noticed that four different progress bars are moving at four different speeds, and wants to know which one is worth paying to move. It walks through career rank, weapon and vehicle mastery, the RedSec ladders and the collection goals, and says plainly which order type fits each. Where a season has changed a threshold, the in-game progression screen is the source of truth.
Four ladders that do not feed each other
The single most useful thing to understand about progression here is that the bars are independent. Time spent on one does not meaningfully advance the others, which is why a player can be deep into career rank with barely a weapon mastered, or sitting on a full set of vehicle unlocks and no ranked placement at all.
Career rank is the account-wide number. It moves on total score across everything you do, and it is the slowest bar in the game.
Weapon leveling is per weapon. Each gun carries its own track and its own attachments, and nothing you did on the last one carries over.
Vehicle mastery is the same idea applied to armour, transport and air, on its own separate clock.
RedSec is the battle royale side, with its own wins, its own ranked ladder and its own reasons to care.
Order the bar that is blocking you. A player who wants a specific attachment does not need a career-rank order, and a player who wants the account-wide number does not get there fastest by grinding one rifle.
Career rank and why it moves slowest
Career rank is cumulative score rather than performance, which means it rewards presence more than skill. Objective play, revives, spotting, vehicle damage and squad actions all feed it, and a match where you played the objective badly but consistently often out-scores a match where you held a good ratio in a corner.
