That is why the first matches of a season are worth more than the fortieth. The system is least certain about you right after a reset, so it moves your score in large steps to find you quickly, then turns conservative once it has a sample. It is also the whole argument for having the placement run played properly rather than repairing a bad one two months later. The number of matches a season asks for has changed before, so check the career tab before you plan around it.

Role composition decides more matches than mechanics

A team is built from three roles, Vanguard, Duelist and Strategist, and a lobby that fields six duelists loses to a lobby that fields a front line and somebody keeping it alive. Team-up bonuses sit on top of that, so which heroes are already locked in changes what the next pick is worth.

This is why an order sometimes has to name a role. If your match history is entirely duelist, a climb played on strategist leaves you with a rank you cannot hold on the heroes you actually play, and a profile that does not look like yours. Tell us the constraints up front.

• The heroes you own and want played, and any hero you refuse to see in your history.

• The role the account should look like it plays.

• Whether the pool should stay deliberately narrow so the profile stays consistent.

• Anything seasonal already in progress that the booster should leave alone.

Our default without instructions is a narrow pool on the role your recent matches already show, which is both the quietest option for the account and the closest to the rank you will have to defend once the order ends.

Hero proficiency is a different goal

Proficiency is progress on a single hero rather than on the account, and the unlocks attached to it do not care what rank you are. That makes it a different kind of order. A rank climb is measured against a destination on the ladder, proficiency work is measured per hero against the milestones that hero asks for, and neither one accelerates the other.

So name the heroes that matter to you rather than asking for proficiency in general. What each hero requires differs, and the work is only worth buying on the ones you will keep playing after the order closes.

Booster tip: if you want the rank and the proficiency, order the proficiency work on the heroes you intend to climb with. Played in the same matches, two goals cost one grind instead of two.

Which service fits the problem

Five services cover almost everything a Rivals customer needs, and the right one is decided by the problem rather than by the size of the climb.

• Rank boosting — a named destination. You give a start and a target and the order runs until the account is there.

• One Above All boosting — the top band, where a place is held rather than owned, and where the work is measured in maintained score rather than in divisions crossed.

• Placement matches — the seasonal run that decides where the account re-enters the ladder.

• Win boosting — a fixed number of wins. It fits a small gap, or a first order you want to keep short.

• Hero proficiency — progress on the heroes you name, independent of rank.

Solo or duo

Every order is one or the other. A solo order means the booster signs in and plays the account alone. It is the faster route, and high on the ladder it is usually the only route, because the party rules narrow as you climb until a wide rank gap is simply refused at the queue screen.

A duo order means you play in your own party alongside the booster. It takes longer for the same score, because your own matches are part of every result, and it is the version worth paying for when you want to watch how a front line is actually held rather than just own the badge. Check the current party window in the client before planning a long duo climb. It is a matchmaking rule rather than a company policy, and nobody can work around it.

What happens on your account

The handling rules are the same on every order and none of them are extras. The booster connects through a region-matched route, the account is set to offline or invisible for the duration, and there is no in-game chat, no voice and no friend activity on your account at all. Nothing cosmetic changes unless you ask, so your sprays, nameplates and costumes stay exactly as you left them.

While it runs, the order lives on its page in your dashboard, with the current status, the progress against the target you bought, and a chat thread straight to the booster. Ask for a pause there any time you want the account back for an evening. Pricing sits on the game page rather than in an article, because it moves with your start and your target instead of standing still.
